Time Rifters

Please remove the Virtual Reality achievement
Why am I asking for this? Because it forces you to buy Oculus Rift which is NOT cheap, and besides, achievements should be about doing something difficult, something harder than just running the game with Oculus Rift turned on.

Nobody's forcing you to do anything, and there are far worse things in life than not being able to get 100% achievements in a game. Besides, you haven't *really* played Time Rifters until you've played it in VR!
The achievement should stay. It'll be waiting for you when you join the revolution.

But this makes even the best and longest players buy Rift if they want to have 100%. Besides, what do you ACHIEVE by running the game with Rift? Please, tell me.

Nobody can tell you. You just have to see it for yourself.

I don't have the game, but agree. Needing to PAY for an achievement is ridiculous.

@rredrryan
I wouldn't complain so much if it was around 5 bucks, but cmon ppl: 350$?! That's outrageous!

I don't understand the hate. You don't get anything for 100% the game. And if you're a completionist I'm pretty sure you can live with this one game not being completed.

can you just lanuch in rift mode and get it with out a rift?

The game was first made for the Oculus VR Jam so it's kind of natural that it's in there, really. It was made with VR in mind from the ground up, and to me it's definitely the superior way of playing it :) Then again I'm a VR nut so of course I think that. See it as a small push for you to seek out VR at some point ;)

And there's no hurry, the consumer version of the Oculus Rift is not yet released, so it's not like it's something to rush out and get. The DK2 sure comes with the quirks and issues developer hardware/software has, I would not recommend getting it just to get a single achievment in a game.

Do you think they will make TR compatible with the customer version?
BOLL 15 Apr, 2015 @ 12:56pm
I would hope so, it should be a bigger market, and they have a finished product for it. But who knows :P Then there is also the OSVR movement and the HTC Vive... it will all depend on what happens on the SDK side of things I guess.

Umm, have you played it with the rift? it's the only way I play this game.
My housemate and I both play quite a bit of TimeRifters, and I can't at all play without the rift.
One big plus is the decoupled controls.
Being able to look around independantly of the cursor.
Doing small circles to acid the blocks is essential, and moves the camera all over the place with a monitor.

$300+, though.
I actually would like to NOT make bad purchase decisions, unlike YOU.
BOLL 25 Apr, 2015 @ 12:44pm
Haha, if it was a bad purchase decision is subjective, so from your point of view it might have been :P For me I don't regret a thing in any case :D That said it's definitely not for everyone, as it's beta hardware and originally made for developers.
