However IF (and this is still a big if) FaceRig is going to support hand-tracking / full body-tracking, they will probably indeed look into other types of hardware.
To that end I think we will even have to deal with head mounted cams to get on par with high end Hollywood quality for face tracking at some point, but realistically there's very few people who will accept the loss of comfort for that extra level of performance, so while we do want it, we can't start with it.
So we start with webcam and a totally gear-less and marker-less setup for maximum comfort, and then we will add in high performance tracking options for those who are willing to go through the hustle of strapping a camera to their head at the end of a rod that lights and films their face from a constant angle :).
