Game is NOT on your platform HELP
Help! Please, when I launch this game it says that FaceRig is not on my platform. What do I do?
P.S: I'm on a Mac (that might not matter much)

Yes it does.

FaceRig is currently windows only, and will only later be ported to Mac (it is confirmed that this will happen, but no ETA except for "till after after Windows is running well"

From the store page:
System Requirements
Minimum:
OS: Windows® 7 or later

So, no OSX/linux on there and also not on the info-panel

Thank you SO much!!! Also, beta key? Where's that?

what beta key?

and if you meant ETA, that stands for Estimated Time of Arrival, the expected time till it is going to be here.

If we purchase, and we are on Mac, this will allow us to take advantage of the discount and we just wait for the port to Mac? Also, where will we find information on developing our own models to use for this? I saw that you allow monetized under strict rules, but it's a bit difficult to wade through the legalese to see what we will actually need in order to do this. I am guessing that we would be able to use our own models, but can someone explain, in plain English, what you can and can't do? I was trying to figure out what the difference was between the beta and the pro upgrade. I thought the pro upgrade included the ability to monetize and use our own models? Thank you.

That seems logical to me, though I've never heard of anyone considering this before o.O haha. Seems like a smart idea to me though, if you're certain you want the program and can wait until the Mac version is released.

There will probably be guides on Steam and the FaceRig.com website. They will also certainly appear in the FaceRig directory (steamapps > common > FaceRig > Bin > Tools)

I'm pretty sure someone will also make youtube videos for it, though I can't say if it'll be someone from the community or someone from Holotech.

As for this, I'm not too good with legal stuff myself, so to avoid any confusion or misunderstandings, I'll make sure someone from Holotech answers this.

This has to be confirmed by Holotech Studio's, but I believe so indeed. What might happen though is that at the release of the Mac version, there will be a similar discount period.

With every version you can use models made in 3D modelling programs. On a technical point there are no differences between Classic and Pro.
The added feature of Pro is that you may monetize it, where with Classic you may not.
The rules are:
-no pay-wall (you are required to pay before seeing the content with FaceRig in it.
-the person using Pro is a single person, a registered charity or a company that made less then half a million dollars in the last fiscal year (or local equivalent)

EDIT: damm you TC >:( but yes, what he says is True(chaos) :P

Thank you for your responses, TC and FurRiffic. I look forward to seeing this come to Mac and will work on some models in anticipation. :) As to use, I have seen videos made for YouTube; it also mentions use for Skype conversations. For my personal use, I am most interested in Skype as I abhor using video where I can be seen. Being able to use my own custom avatar would be much more appealing. Has it been used with Skype already or still in planning stages?

Skype (on windows) has been one of the main features from the beginning, but in theory every program that can use a webcam input, can use FaceRig instead.
