My OS is linux, and a native linux version doesn't seem to be in the works any time soon at all, if ever. I don't have much hope for developers who say "it's planned" because that offers no commitment at all, just an appeasing statement to make people believe that it will one day come. Commitment comes with a plan, and a plan can easily have a date attached.
Another option, something I've set up a spare laptop for. You can install this[winswitch.org] piece of software and open the window of the program from Windows onto OSX. I'm not sure how performance would compare, though.
I have heard of someone having success with getting this running through WINE as well.
When I tried to use WINE, I just managed the opening, but not the running. So it was a black window for me, presumably working.
