FaceRig does NOT Respond!
NonoNO , it DID NOT Freeze, but I click on all the options and buttons of interface- visually it responds to button clicks, but Nothing Happens.
I literally click on Save Avatar Options (after customizing it)- and it doesn't do anything.
What to do, how to fix it, so I can save changes?

Funny thing is- I can Still control the char with the camera , but not change anything in customizations and/ or UI

They've made it super clear that Facerig is no longer supported. You can't really expect a response when the software is dead.

Well they want us to get Animaze so it might not be too far a stretch for them to break this as encouragement to try it.

Have you tried using the "version next" variant of facerig at all? Everything seems to be working 100% on my end here. Have you also tried running as administrator because not being able to save sounds like a permissions issue.
