Do you perhaps also have an installscript_log.txt ? (some installation do, some don't)
Also what anti-virus are you using?
Edit: and is it 139 or 135?
1. Restart your PC (and ectually use the restart/reboot option, not the shut-down option, it matters under Windows 10)
2. Exclude "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common" and "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\downloading" from McAfee's scans
3. Update your Graphics Card drivers ( http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/111030 ) and afterwards restart your PC (again, with the reboot option).
4. Go into Steam, rightclick FaceRig in the list of software, properties, local files, verify cache. Wait for it to finish checking AND downloading (if needed) before launching FaceRig again.
5. Go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FaceRig\_CommonRedist\" and re-install all these programs top to bottom (just find the .exe file in each folder, and for vcredist go from 2008 to 2013, but for each only install the _x64.exe one).
If one step works, good, please report what worked, if none worked, report back too and we'll check further.
That Windows error usually appears when a required DLL file ( either by the OS or by FaceRig) could not be located. This can happen because of missing installation files or logical drive errors ( among other things, but those two are the most probable) .
Please make sure that
- FaceRig was installed when the Steam installer was running with administrator privileges.
- There are no missing FaceRig files( right click on it in the steam Install folder and choose " Verify Integrity of the Local Application Data Cache")
- All the redistributables from the [SteamLibraryFolder]\FaceRig\_CommonRedist\ were successfully installed as well.
- you run a disk check on your drive to make sure there are no logical disk errors.
- your antivirus is not blocking the Steam client or any of the installers from writing their files in the FaceRig folder.
If you still get the error even after the above please read the pinned thread called " When reporting Crashes and other critical issues" and mail us the data mentioned there , with a link to this thread ( if you haven't already) .
