Can you check out if any other key (aside from the hotkeys that I assume trigger special poses and animations) works with Hooked Keys? For example, save your scene on a slot by pressing Ctrl + Shift + 1 (the numbered buttons on the top of the keyboard). Then, save another scene with a different avatar on a second slot with Ctrl + Shift + 2, then put FaceRig in the foreground and press Ctrl + 1 to load the previous scene. If the Hooked Keys are working the scene should switch.
