The pip displaying the facerig virtual camera probable means thay the wrong camera is selected in the settings. Look in the launcher settings or under the advanced settings->general settings->devices while in-program and (re) select the right webcam

Also make sure that no other program is using the webcam at the time, including the webcam's own software

Also I have no other program open that utilizes camera

There is no option in th launcher settings for camera select the only way I am finding to change camera When I goto devices in program it displays "Change webcam from advanced tracking Configuration dialog" After navogating to that dialog under input device I select dropdown, select webcam and nothing! I do see the webcam in the drop down just cant select it! The resolutions dropdown does nothing at all!

Hi there,

Just a follow up here, we've also pushed live an update which should fix your issues (:
improviz 14 Jun, 2016 @ 10:16pm
Well, now I can select my webcam. BUT, still no tracking. It just says "Tracker Initializing" and sits there. I don't even have the FaceRig virtual camera to disable it if I look in my Device Manager. So, not sure what's wrong. :-(

Is the camera working now? (because i can see you have posted in a different thread that it is working)

Well, it seemed to be. But now, not working again. It seems very flaky. The audio is selected for webcam input but FaceRig isn't seeing audio, although I see audio VU in Control Panel for the WebCam mic. And no tracking. My live video shows up in face rig, but the face tracker won't initgialize. Sigh.

Greetings, we can barely diagnose any issue only based on description you provide, especially when developing on PC and having dependencies such as webcams, audio inputs and other third party software/SDKs. We need a bit more info from "under the hood", so I strongly suggest sending us the following:
* The VP.log (found at <steam folder>\steamapps\common\FaceRig\VP.log NOTE: this file gets overwritten each time you start FaceRig)
* The dxdiag file: press windows-key+R, type in dxdiag, enter and wait for it to finish.

Save the contents of the files to pastebin.com (no registration required) and post the links.

If the webcam is working in FaceRig and you see the webcam feed, but the tracker does not start tracking you then you need to make some checks:
1. make sure the tracking is ON (in the Advanced UI on the top bar there is a button "Toggle Tracking" - 5th button on the top bar from left to right - that needs to be highlighted)
2. in the Trackers tab of the Advanced Tracking Configuration dialog, make sure ULSee isn't paused, on the title bar of the tracker, to the right there should be a pause icon, not a Play icon.
3. make sure there are no hard shadows on your face and try to stand closer to the webcam, it may be that the tracker cannot pick up your face.
