Face Rig exports audio but no video. 'SOLVED'
Hi had this all working fine a few days ago but now when I record save and export then open in windows player or vlc it's just a black screen and the the audio plays.

It's seems to save the moive fine in face rig and I see it render out frame by frame as it saves it.

but no luck when I come to play the file out after.

Any advice would be great!

Hi cheekyadam,

When you choose to export the video do you receive any error?
You should also verifying application cache, to do so, go to Steam, right click on FaceRig, go to Properties, then open the LOCAL FILES tab and hit the VERIFY INTEGRITY OF APPLICATION CACHE. When you launch FaceRig, make sure you let all the install steps go through.
If you still have trouble recording and exporting a performance, please provide the following, in order to find a fix to your issues: the VP.log and the dxdiag file using this https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/274920/discussions/2/34096318703798146/

Hello, try re-installing all prerequisites present in <steamInstallDir>/SteamApps/common/FaceRig/Bin/prerequisites (open codecs and install_webmdshow) and see if this issue persists.

Thank you so much for your reply... So still having the same problem.

There is no error message when I export the video.
The video saves and play fine inside face rig.
I have verified the integrity of the application cache.
I have uninstalled and re-installed face rig.
I'm sure I'm giving time enough to run through start up process.

I'm running face rig via Windows 10 via Paralles on mac el capitan.

I'm using the built in i-sight camera on my mac bok pro.

Everything worked fine a few days ago re exporting.

The export issue is most likely related to the prerequisites (the things you need to install for a video to properly export). Have you tried reinstalling separately?

Be warned that when FaceRig installs through Steam, it will attempt to install them but can sometimes fail for various reasons. This is why I advised you to try installing them manually

Thank you Wibbit. Took me a while to understand.

I have removed then re installed open codecs and install_webmdshow

Sorry to say that the problem still occurs.

Incedentally inside face rig... once the video has saved, the screen is enlarged and I'm unable to click any buttons. Therefore I have to restart inorder to continue.

Managed to completely uninstall face rig, steam, Windows 10 and Parallels and start again.

All working fine now. Thank you so much for your time.

Hugely appreciated. Loving Face Rig. was worth the purchase of Windows and Parallels to run it.
