Your crash is not the vsfilter issue, it's other unhandled exception issue. We are already investigating this issue. We will fix it as soon as we can. Unfortunately, we don't have a temporary solution / workaround for the moment.
Was wondering if I could help with that new update, helping to solve crashes and all.
Just to be sure it is the same problem, could you post the error log you get, together with:
VP.log
installscript_log.txt
dxdiag file
And please post those 3 files to pastebin, since they are so large
If you don't know where to find them:

I could only suggest one thing, could you go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FaceRig\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010" and start DXSETUP.exe as administrator (rightclick, click "run as administator")
@Pengu
You may be running FaceRig on a video adapter that has limited capabilities (probably an integrated graphics card), below our minimum specs, so some graphical resources are not instantiated correctly, thus crashing somewhere in the rendering pipeline.
If you have a dedicated graphics card we suggest installing the latest drivers and make sure FaceRig uses this one.
I'm having the same problem, and I'm using a laptop with integrated graphics and webcam... I can't find any webcam drivers for this Dell Inspiron N5010 so I'm kind of stuck there.
Hope this bug gets resolved soon, or at least confirms that its the webcam- I don't want to try buying a webcam and find that it's not the problem.
Please post your callstack, VP.log, installscript_log.txt, dxdiag.
@raveleopard
Example: you have a laptop, it comes with an integrated graphics/video card, let's say Intel(R) HD Graphics. The integrated video cards usually have lower capabilities, enough to surf the internet, edit documents, see photos -> basic PC usage. For a good gaming experience, meaning running games smoothly , laptops also come with dedicated cards, like NVidia. Although FaceRig is a software/application/program, it uses a game engine for rendering (and other stuff).
PCs with two video cards let the user choose which one is used while running a specific app. So if you have an NVidia card, you should choose this one to run FaceRig on (via NVidia Control Panel).
Unfortunately FaceRig seems to not run on some integrated cards because they may be below our minimum specs. We have tested it on several laptops which have both integrated and dedicated card, and it does not crash on the integrated one, but runs slower.
Also, if you have a smartphone, you could try using that as a webcam (use the kinoni app[www.kinoni.com], other apps are not tested or are known to crash FaceRig.)
