We will also rename " Neutral pose reset" to "Auto Calibrate Advanced Tracking Settings" in the next update, so that the role of that button is more clear.
- Regarding calibrating expressions, there is the Advanced Tracking Configuration button on the menu on the right. Please take a look at this guide : https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=315322209. It was written when Facerig had the old interface, but it is explaining the basic concepts and how calibration works.
- To make your custom tracker configuration profile you should first Reset to Neutral Pose (the button on the upper menu). This step configures each expression's range with some default *magic* values which should work for most of the people (we are still working on finding the *right* values). If you are not satisfied with the result of the previous step, you can calibrate each expression individually (as it is explained in the guide above) and save the profile in a tkc file by clicking the Save Option button in the Expression Units tab. Facerig also saves the current profile in autosave . tkc on closing and auto loads it when starting the program another time. You can also load your configuration file from Load Option button in the Expression Units tab. Keep in mind that if you Reset to Neutral Pose after loading a tkc file you will alter the values just loaded, so you should just click the x(close) button on the Reset to Neutral Pose popup.
- Regarding the lazy eyes, Reset to Neutral Pose and go to Advanced Tracking Configuration, Expression Units tab > Eyes > Left Eye Closed, Right Eye Closed and play a bit with the sliders. I suggest moving the Min slider to the right in your case. After you are happy with the configuration, save it.
- What version of Machy and skin are you using? the original one, with an A letter on the icon, the Retargeted one, with an R letter on the icon, Sapurrai or Kaiser Kitty ? Have you scaled his eyes or any other features? It would help us if you can share with us a screenshot with this issue illustrated, you can post it on imgur for example.
- What does it mean they are stuck? Eye pupil position or the eye lids? The new tracker is not detecting the eye pupil movement when you turn your head above a certain angle (on Yaw rotation). This can be seen on the webcam feed: along the tracking points on the face there are two pink/purple lines which indicate the eyes looking direction. When these lines are not shown, it means the tracker does not find reliable information for the eyes. We treat this case in two ways: we take the last eyes tracked data and If the user was looking in the direction of the webcam, the avatar will look by default into the camera (in-game camera), otherwise it will look in the other direction.
- Regarding the head rotating on eye movement, it is a known problem on the tracker side, there are some expressions that trigger false head rotations. This issue may be fixed it future updates. To minimize the error you can also go to Advanced Tracking Configuration > Body and Head Pose > Reset to Defaults Button, and change the Sensitivity slides for each head rotation to lower values.
http://imgur.com/NUEkEED is a rare case of Machy being distorted. Note the clipping on his left eye. So far only seen this on the retargeted version. I didn't scale anything at all.
http://imgur.com/CTDcTRx Here is the main problem: the missing options. I looked to the right but Machy decided to stare forwards. I have disabled the "look at camera" function.
Eye pupil position. I see the purple dots on my pupils but they only turn into tiny lines when I look in any direction.
Unlike the expressions menu, the body and head pose menu is shown fully, so I could fix that.
I'm using a 30fps camera @720p resolution, along with a nVIDIA GeForce 840m and Intel Core i7 4712MQ 2.4GHz quad-core if this helps further.
This is the first time we see this bug, the missing options. We will investigate this issue. Is this bug (the eyes not moving) happening only on Machy?
We have reproduced this issue, we will fix it in the next updates. Thanks for the feedback.
You're welcome, and lucky to have a community with open eyes. ;)
We've opened three bug reports:
TI-7 - missing eye expression issue
TI-8 - Machy's eye ball clips the eye lid
TI-9 - eye tracking issue
We'll get back to you when we start fixing them. Until then, I suggest sending us a video of yourself (as Carmen has already advised) in order to investigate and correctly diagnose the eye tracking issue.
Sorry to say.
