But, what webcam would you recommend
No, this isn't the place for that, please take a look at this post: Suggested webcams
Same here, got one dont know the exact model but the driver says something like "Windows Lifecam Cinema" and get some error message when i start it up and then it's just a black screen..
On Facerig, The Blackmagic Intensity Pro Capture Card does work, As long as Blackmagic DeckLink WDM Streaming is disabled in the Device Manager, That is a different driver that the Card uses and many capture programs don't use the WDM Drivers.
When loading Facerig, It does see the Capture Card as the Decklink Video Capture.
Here's a screenshot to proof it.

This is a video capture of the Wii U showing in the Webcam Window.
These capture devices are useful for anyone who owns an HD camera with HDMI out, Then could plug the camera's HDMI out to the capture card's HDMI in and use those to capture camera video to the computer, And even use them as webcams.
The issue posted at the link you mentioned is not caused by an unsupported webcam. Also, we updated on 19th September the "nextversion" branch with an alternative webcam grabber, which we have tested on webcams that did not work previously.
We are already working on this issue.
Someone looked at it and mentioned it wasn't the exact same problem as the other guy but there is still no solution for it and I already tried the one work around he mentioned. He said I will have to wait for a Holotech dev to show up.
I know you guys are working to fix the bugs but I just wanted to be sure my bug was noticed too. I'm not trying to be rude or anything just nervous about my problem not getting fixed that's all. I wish you guys the best of luck.
The first part will be out soon, we'll be adding upper body tracking (hands and torso orientation).
The second part depends on Microsoft to provide appropriate drivers so that webcam software would have to possibility to access the RGB stream from the Kinect. Skype (a Microsoft product) for example does not provide the possibility to use Kinect 2 as a webcam.
On a side note, there are some resources on the internet (at least for the Kinect v1) that provide drivers that make the Kinect device be used as a webcam.
Ah so it's really difficult becuase lack of micrsoft giving 3rd party developers signed drivers to use all aspects of the kinect v2 (web cam). Figures. Good luck!!!
