Sorry, I must have not typed that up currectly. Could you please post it to pastebin and then link here.

Also, could you post the following info to (a different) pastebin and link that here:
Press windows-key + R, type in dxdiag, enter and wait till it's done.
Save the info and copy the contents of that file over.

deleted the old VP post and moving this to the newversion topic, since there's where the bug is active.

Hi SinDra, it would greatly help if you would post the contents of the unhandled exception window.

the crash may be related to FaceRig GUI. The problem is that a certain step in the updated installation did not perform correctly, so I'll ask you to do it by hand:

go to <steamInstallDir>\SteamApps\common\FaceRig\Mod\VP\PC_Datacache\facerig\dx9_target_dx9\Interface\Scripts\GuiMainMenu and delete MainMenu.xsc

Hope this helps.

Hi SinDra,

For further investigation let's talk in private chat. Please accept my friend invite on Steam.

Hi,

I'm havign about the same issue as SinDra. Looking at logs, I find errors for missing scripts... I've just purchased and installed Facerig. It work, recording also works, only crashes on trying to export movie, I can supply logs, just tell me which and where :)

Btw, is there a Quit button somewhere? Cant seem to find it...

Edit: Oh sry, this in in beta version... im using the release... should i try the betas?

Edit2: Oh... I did a reboot, and it wanted to install some pre-requisits again, I just cancelled Ximph.org since its already latest version, and voila... now works :D So pls ignore me :P

No need for that, as currently nextversion = current version (it was just updated)

Uh... still having problem, after reboot it wanted to install some prerequisits again, xiph and directshow... i cancelled and it worked ok... but on next run i let it reinstall those two prerequisits and ... now it doesnt work again... can you point me to which prerequisits it needs and i'll reinstall them myself ...

Edit: Answering myself :D ok ok seems something weird with pre-requisits and i found them in: ....\SteamApps\common\FaceRig\Bin\prerequisites\

Reinstalling webmdshow helped :) hope it stays now...

Did a few more tests, and it looks like Xiph.org removes webmdshow while it installs or reinstalls itself. Steam will first install webm then xiph, this looks like a procedure bug, xiph has to be first and webm after. Hope that helps if someone has problems with exporting movies.

Thank you for testing this and finding out a likely cause and work-around :). I have added this info the the latest announcement, so that if other issues experience crashes they know what helped you fix this issue.
