Next OS?
Do you know which OS system you'll be moving on to next?

I'm asking because I have a Mac and this program looks very awesome! (^.^)

This will depend mainly on the community.
When Holotech are ready to move on to the next OS, there will be a public poll.
Right now, it is most likely to be either Mac or Mobile (hard to say which, honestly)

In the latest user polls the mobile votes were leading easily over Mac and Linux, so to align with our community desires, most likely the next platform will be mobiles, then Mac , then Linux. The work that we do on mobiles with OpenGL ES 3.0 , will also help shorten the time for the transition to Mac ( to Open GL).

Refunds requests are handled by exclusively by Steam ( they are the billing entity).

We do hope to have the Mac version out before the year is over though (but fair warning buying FaceRig then will be a bit more expensive than getting it now in Early Access).

To shed further light on the matter on why the transition takes longer:
We are not using a ready-made windows-mac-mobile cross platform engine such as Unity or Unreal because we do a lot of custom stuff on how we handle models, shading and animation, so porting all that to new platforms is not as trivial as compiling for that new platform and be done with it ( like it is for most gaming titles using the already tested gaming-only feature-set of Unity or Unreal).

Furthermore, aside our own custom code, the engine that we are using is a slightly customized version of a less known engine (FUN labs engine and tool-set), that was developed initially for more traditional gaming platforms: Windows PC and all major consoles (from Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo), and getting to Mac or mobiles will also take more time.

does this mean face rig has a chance of making it into Nintendo software or something of that sort.

Technically yes, it is possible. However, there is also the legal question of Nintendo /Sony/Microsoft allowing us to do it. Normally you cannot publish a game or a program on a console except if you are a certified developer for that console, and spend resources to get dev kits and such. (Essentially the platform holder has to like you and say " yes" first , especially because of what we're trying to do, we need to be able to stream the output out as a virtual webcam device on the console , and that cannot be achieved except we collaborate directly with them :) ).

i would love it if you guys would try to do so in the upcoming years because of how awesome it would be. I cannot even fathom how much I would love to see Face Rig on my 3DS. Even then I will always support you guys through the way, :)
