Question to models and modelling
Heyo,

I've got 2 questions towards the modelling (delete this discussion, if there is a similar one already created):

1. I'm curious what application you're using to create the avatar models
Blender, Maya, w/e - Just curious :P

2. Would it be possible to make a "basic-avatar-model" to build upon?
For example, release that and then people can download it and put hair, clothes, ... on?

1 Z brush for high poly modelling, Unfold3d for mapping, and Phidias for low poly modelling and animation (Phidias is not commercially available) Instead of Phidias you can use Max or Maya or Blender.

Then I'm pretty sure to use Blender :)
