720p/1080p vs 60fps
I currently own a Logitech® HD Pro C920, and looking at the PlayStation® Eye. Is there a tracking difference between them, is it worth buying the PlayStation Eye for the 60fps output? Is there a significant tracking quality difference between 1080p and 640p?

Higher resolution = more precise tracking
Faster frame rate = faster tracking

Pick your poison :3

Faster frame rate = it picks up on faster movements and has less chance to loose you if you are moving fast

I believe they used Eye for the official videos, and it works amazingly well there. C920 (what I've tested it on), however, seems to work little better than a potato on a stick.

It stands to reason that facial recognition algorithms prefer something that looks like a human face more than they prefer higher resolution. So good lighting, good focus, lack of motion blurring and lack of film grain will probably be more helpful than anything else.

I own the C920 for other reasons too, but I'll buy the PlayStation Eye anyway, have both. :)

Have both cams, both work good, but in most cases the PS3 Eye works better and more reliable if you take care for proper light in your room.
