Raw mocap export?
Not sure if I should start another thread, but a quick search didn't reveal anything of the sort. Will you eventually support exporting into .bvh, or some other mocap format? Or will it always remain "strictly" finished video / live feed thing?

For example, I could record the top body and facial expressions with voice, then bolt it all on a puppet with a proper skeleton to make some nice 3D "studio talk" (using Blender 3D), but that would require raw mocap data for every person involved. Would that be eventually possible with FaceRig?

Thank you in advance,
-T.

That's planned for the Studio Version, Expected to be released in 2015.
One of the main planned features is exporting animation data, next to the movie data.

Also, you can also record video's faces of people and use them in FaceRig or edit your models to be used in FaceRig
In the normal version there will most likely also be a timeline-editor (not yet implemented, but the button is there) so you can record and after-edit clips (probably)

Thanks for the answer. I was hoping it would eventually make its way into the "pro" version and we would finally have a sub-100 USD product on the market simple folk like me could use, but ah well. Guess, I'm going back to tracking coloured stickers. :)

I've my eye on this software for quite a long time now and have conceived a bunch of questions. Is it going to be possible to upload an existing rig with a skin-bound character into facerig? And how is the facerig going to be attached to the rig? Do we just select the headjoint and generate a facerig or do we have to build one ourselves and assign each bone? And what if you already have existing animation on your rig? Should that be imported along? What if it's a custom rig with controls? And will it be possible to build a facerig and bring it over to maya with controls?

I love your software, as a professional animator/rigger I will throw my money at you guys...

Hello,

I'll share a few links so you can find the answers in higher detail; but in short, you need to create the entire model+bones and import it into facerig
