Asking for artists willing to make a model for me
I've been wanting to get into Facerig for a while, but while I have a ton of models I have custom-made for SFM, none of them are ones I want to use. I essentially want one based on my icon, a chubby, spotted blue otter with glasses. How much would such a model cost? It doesn't have to be super high-def, it can be cartoony if need be, and can be done in 2D or 3D, I have the patches for both options installed. If anyone would like to tackle this, please let me know. Thanks.

Honestly there most be someone willing, I would do it for you, but honestly im the trouble isnt in making a model for you, its in getting it to work with facerig, Rigging and all that jazz is easy i just am personaly on a learning path myself trying to understand how to get facerig and the naming conventions for textures to work.

If no one steps up to offer on here i would say go to a 3d community and ask around there, maybe bring some talent over here to Facerig and get us some more 3d models lol

There are some sample models you can download on Workshop forum, perhaps you can look for your way around from the sample provided. That's how I learn things, mostly, lol.

Anyway to OP, I can do 2D avatars, but my slot currently full at the moment. If you would like to wait, you can add me on Steam or Discord, just send a PM.

If it doesn't have to be full 3D... I would suggest this group. https://facerig-custom-character.net/

I heard that people have been having success on porting Daz Studio models over to SFM. I have the M4 model for that program, as well as textures and flexes that will turn it into an anthro otter. Could I give those to someone who knows about porting Daz models to SFM, and have them use that to make a Facerig model for me?

Here's the model I mentioned. It'll be recolored to match my character's fur color, maybe have a tail added, and if I can find it, will have webbed paws on, along with some regular clothes.

Source Film Maker rigging =/= Facerig rigging, so even though it might work to get it ported to SFM, it still doesn't work within FaceRig itself, although the process MIGHT be similar, just not the same (naming convention of the bones, requiring a camera object, etc).

Well, what is needed for facerig modeling? If the model being ported over already have facial flexes for talking and the like, do they need to be assigned bones for that, or can they be converted as-is? I'm confused about that part.

I know people have used Daz3D models for SFM model edits, and I've got this. Would this be easy to rig up for Facerig?
