Refunded the game. It wasn’t outright bad but the price felt too high for the gameplay depth & breadth.
I’m aware this is a mobile game with in-app purchases bordering on P2W ported to PC with advertised additional content (incl paid mobile content unlocked through progression) + some PC optimisations…

Why I refunded this game & my experience for those looking to buy:

1) The game is unsurprisingly very simple in mechanics and lacks a lot of basic in-game QoL features you’d expect to find in comparable games that are similar price if not cheaper… The most immediate jarring UI/UX deficiencies of this game for me were rudimentary character animations for basic gameplay like foraging, attacking or any interaction such environment. I would describe the level of attention to detail this game puts into animation and mechanics as akin to simplicity of a furry version of vampire survivors with guns.

But more seriously another game called Yet Another Zombie Survivors game at less than 50% of this game’s price pretty much sums this game up minus the supposed base crafting element which is very basic…

2) The game is advertised as open-world but there’s nothing about it that’s open. The world is segmented into mini stages like a roguelite with each area about the same in size as a comparable game called Warm Snow.

3) There’s no real satisfaction to the RPG aspects with the only ok feature been slowly building up your arsenal collection and beefing up your squad and load out. But what there is like looting, inventory management, character progression is very mobile centric (basic), lacking variety. This is ok they had priced the game lower and similar to other indie roguelites but instead priced at similar to other indie ARPGs like DROVA, Wizard with a Gun, Quasimorph but lacking in both depth & breadth vs those games… Another last example is a game called Zed Zone (~50% of this game’s price) is more feature rich open world zombie apocalypse game that this game claims to be minus the furry creatures & squad mechanic…

4) This game advertised on PC as feature complete and removed all mobile paid content structure. Yet you’ll see this game also launched on PC with DLC where you can pickup squad unlocks etc. Enough said…

The closest comparison I have personal experience with in price & genre are Zero Sievert & RWR. Both of those games actually feel like PC games with depth vs. a cheap mobile game ported to PC but upsold as open world tactical shooter RPG…

I do feel and agree a good amount of these points sadly.

Well, with all the garbage games coming out that are pushing politics, LGBTQ+, Potty mouth and the woke agenda - I felt that this game was refreshing. I have played worse games at the price of this game+DLC. Having said that... I support being able to refund a title on steam.

They probably shadow boxed the intro scene and thought ''nope, too hard basket'' :steamsalty:

This game has problems, but pretty much every statement you made is factually wrong, and the ones that are correct aren't really issues. That huge paragraph complaining about animations? The art in this game is pretty good, and complaining about simple animations is really silly. If this was some 60 dollar AA or AAA game, sure, but a little indy game with hand drawn art? Come on. IT is advertised as open world because it is open world. The game just has loading screens between the grid squares. IT isn't a rogue-liite because those maps aren't randomly generated, procedural generated, or change in any way at all between visits or even playthroughs on new save files. The RPG stuff is simple, yes. This is this developers first real RPG, there two other games were shooter/incremental games. As for the fourth point, that is again another blatantly false statement. All of the mobile style mtx was removed. In the mobile version, you had to pay money for storage upgrades or upgrades for the ECB/Bigfoot/Goliaths/Air supports. Now you find objects that give you those upgrades. The drop rates of all materials were way lower, like a tenth as much in the mobile version to encourage you to spend money buying them outright instead. The characters were individual purchases that were 10 dollars each, now you get all of them for 10 dollars as an addon. It seems fair to me. I can get that you don't like the game, and there's a little bit of valid criticism in there, but your post is heavily laden with actual just false information.

Played the game for 7 minutes. Did you even made it out of the tutorial map or base?

Hes not wrong.

I picked it up for something light to play on the Deck but its just......dull.

Walk and hold shoot, loot everything and repeat.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but such a long post full of perceived faults after just 7 minutes seems to me like you went in already hating the game or didn't even give it a chance.
Funny, because I grabbed this precisely because it was like a mobile game, but I can pay the price up front and get everything the game has to offer without being milked.

I found the game just a bit over average.

This review though, I would give it -10, you would be completely safe during a zomie apocalypse.

The game is tedious at many points, but there's lot's of stuff to unlock, helicopter attacks, artilery, instant travel, world map missions.

The game has a lot of flaws, but single of your points is more ignorant than the next. This game is a tedious RPG that needs time investment to make it fun. I finished the game with around 40h I think.

It sounds like you have a skill issue, or brain issue.
