Server disconnected. Unpure client detected. Invalid .PK3 file referenced
After clicking join, I will get an error message "Server disconnected. Unpure client detected. Invalid .PK3 file referenced"

Tried verifying cache but still same problem.

Please help, thank you.

I may try uninstalling the game and re-downloading it again. I will report the outcome here for others who have the same problem.

Deleted and re-downloaded game again - still same problem.

All my other twenty Steam/non-Steam games work with no problems.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

I got the same thing got disconeccected or "kicked for unknown reson" as soon as the game finished loaded. i belive they are uppdating the servers. because now i cant find any servers.

Verify the game cache, and start unsubscribing from any QL workshop items you're subscribed to until it starts working again.
Try different servers as well, some seem to have problems with some specific workshop items, not all of them.

I belive i found my problem, it was not listed as a bought product or something? i still had the free version or whatever? and when i removed the files it was removed from my list of games. Oh well might buy it some day.

If you ever had it on steam it shouldn't have forgotten, go to the app page and it should say 'play now' rather than buy now, just click that.

Same here. I used to have the free version but saw the play now buttton (even though it costs $5 now) but got this pk3 problem.

Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't solve mine.
Yakumo 29 Nov, 2015 @ 11:44am
When you uninstall do check there are no pk3 files left behind.

But if you've not unsubscribed from workshop items I don't think it would remove them either.

For quakelive they're all in \steam\steamapps\workshop\content\282440

I'm getting the same thing. I've search my entire hard drive and all I have under program files steamapps is the bin.pk3 (10/30/2015) and pak00.pk3 (10/27/2015) and only the id servers give me the unpure client pk3 referenced error.

Under the workshop folder there is only a appworkshop_282440.acf from 11/29/2015.

Under my old pre-Steam C:\Users\[username]\AppData\LocalLow\id Software\quakelive\baseq3 folder the pak00.pk3 and bin.pk3 is dated 9/24/2014. Should any of that old hidden appdata Quake Live stuff be there anymore? It remained behind after I was upgraded to the Steam client.

Uninstalled -> deleted the Quake Live folder, re-downloaded/install.

Now working :)

Yeah I'll try that at some point. I was hoping Steam would push a new QL update soon. Is there a way to force a re-install of QL without uninstalling, like an in-place upgrade to refresh the files?
