Hey now, this is a great problem for the Community Patch! :P
Edit: Opened issue #20[github.com]. Hopefully I'll remember to solve it while I'm working on some other upcoming projects later this month... but if not, anyone's free to take a stab at it.
I would love to change it by myself, but I do not even know how to use github... :-/
And thank you thy Reaper for answering, but why cant you change this nowadays?
I mean, I bought another copy some months ago for a friend, only to support your guys.
Do you get the money when we support you when buying or who gets this?
I would prefer a polished old game more than a star ruler 3 as well as any other game that is very good but needs smeo finetuning here and there....
when making a new sequel most of the time a new engine is taken, all is new and so are the bugs... and if the game is running good but minor flaws are still in it, the developer/publisher head for the next game..
why is this so?
a game that is old can (in this case is) be a great gem that is still being played by fans.
and why should such a game make less fun than a new shiny but hollow new game?
P.S.: I read in github the conversation if there is a misuse possible, the workaround would be, that the donating flagship never loses what it has:
so if the supply ship extends the cargo hold, the supply amount that extends the hold of the flagship should be deleted. if it comes back, it extends the supply hold again, but does not take any supply the flagship has.
after rejoining the fleet, the supply is filled up again.
so lets say the flagship has a supply storage of 3000 and the supply daughter ship has a hold of 300 and joins that fleet, the storage is filled up to 3300.
if it leaves, the flagship has left 3000 and the daughter ship 300.
if this could be misused because instantly the new fleet gets the supply, the daughter ship shoudl have a supply of 0 and start then filling up the storage on its own (if it is not capable with its reactor/not having one..) it stays 0.
When rejoining, the flagships support is extended again and starts at 3000 and fills its storage up.
The studio's been shut down for years. They didn't head for the next game - they failed to make ends meet with the current one and scattered in various directions.
Under those circumstances, I'd consider us lucky to even have contact with the developers, never mind someone officially working on it. Community expertise is all that's left, and with the game being open-source, that's limited only by the size and skill of its modders.
Please read my P.S. above and maybe you understand what I am trying to say here.
The entity Blind Mind Studios still exists, and still receives the money from Steam sales.
Please allow me one last question:
Is this behavior hardcoded or could I change this in a mod or fix this myself some other way?
Where are these settings stored under?
Thank you in advance!
This is a relatively trivial task by the standards of most of the game's major modders, but that doesn't make it a simple task - if you don't already know where to look and what to look for, there's no way I can explain it in a reasonable amount of time. And if you do, then you don't need my help to find most of the answers you're asking for.
So far.. live long and prosper!
