I didn't catch that they were priced the same. Sorry.
Without the save file, I can't tell you anything. Dig trough the individual line items in the Buyer Rating Report. For example, you might be getting a price gouging penalty if the new trim's material costs are significantly lower. Also look at your production/sales reports to make sure it isn't an issue where you don't have enough production lines. Or the vehicle isn't for sale at all the branches. Etc.
But yeah, without the data in front of me, there isn't anything I can say. The buyer rating report contains the formulas used to calculate sales. But any random variables won't necessarily be the same when you end the turn.
So, if you want to send in the save game, I'll be happy to take a look for you. Otherwise, the answer is, "I don't know."
Drop the prices of both designs to $500. And you will see Nu Nu 2 nearly double Nu's sales.
Seeing as it was showing blank for buyer rating column and the following line had the same buyer rating as before, it looked as though that line was having zero effect even though it appearing for one of the two and being specifically named penalty should have made me think otherwise. Abit like a few lines further up being blank for No Smoothness Penalty, etc.
