"End" key mapping causes turn to advance by accident while editing a text field
I've lost several designs today because I use the "end" key to navigate in text fields, and when I press the key to move the cursor in the "name the component/vehicle" fields, it moves the cursor and then immediately causes the turn to cycle.

Initially it seemed the turn was just advancing at random and trashing my designs, because I don't think of the "end" key as a key that could possibly do anything but move the cursor, so it didn't occur to me that that was what was triggering it.

This isn't actually a bug. We use the "End" key as an end turn hotkey. Originally it was F12, but Steam hijacks this button for screenshots, and sadly Steam is our primary distribution system.

The game will prevent the end key from ending the turn if the last GUI widget you clicked was a textbox. If you click anything else, it will reenable.

You can disable hotkeys by clicking the file-cabinet in the office, checking the "Disable Hotkeys" button, and then hitting apply. That will solve your problem.

There is a fairly cheap feature bounty ticket to allow customization hotkeys. This was originally planned for the final release, but the amount of work was a bit too much for minimal gain. So it was pushed into the feature bounty system.
