There is a small bug / inconsistent feature with ending production of vehicles.

If you use the "End Production" option from the mega menu, every car will have the warning about contracts and race teams ending.

If you go to the R&D Department , Modify Vehicle and use "End Production" there , only cars that actually have contracts / race teams running will show that warning (as it should be).

If that is not too much of an issue , it would be a nice small QoL fix :)
