Auto produce functionality and platform sharing
Just my overview as I only recently found out this function (after 100hrs into the game lol)

So first of all I would like it to sell all the stock first before starting producing.

Second I would like an option to only ever produce max amount per line and than produce again as stock is lower than demand.

I believe this would make automation part a bit more flexible due to producing 1 car per line makes the cost of it way too high and the only way to avoid it is to micro manage production that is quite a pain than you have 20+ models.

Platform sharing

I don`t know, maybe I`m missing something here, but I would like that companies there I have majority of shares would license stuff on same basis as any other company with paying royalties and so on.

I would like explanation how does it work if you spin off marque, but that marque using your parts, so should they pay royalties per part? (I believe they should) and if those are not listed for licensing so should be a pop up before releasing the company to set prices for parts used in their models.

Cheers,
ZyZla

Sorry for the late reply,

Please note, as of version 1.25, the game is feature complete. I am not adding any more game features for the foreseeable future. There is a small chance we'll have a crowd funded expansion to the game, but if we do it, what is added is subject to monetary contributor vote.

The auto production system is what the AI uses. The AI does not handle inventories, so the system is designed not to handle stock. Doing so would make the system too complex and slow. If you plan on using Autoproduction, start with it early and just leave it on.

Overstock will never come to this autoproduction system. So this won't be implemented. There is a ticket for the expansion system to allow the player to adjust the maximum production speed slider before adding a new production line. But even then, it wouldn't allow you to do what you're trying to do.

There is also an expansion ticket to completely replace the production system with something more realistic. In that, there is ramp up times, costs, etc. You won't be able to increase production beyond what you planned 6 months in advance. Thus no switching in and out vehicle models at a factory instantly like the current game.

If you're trying to min/max the game more than the autoproduction system, I suggest using the districting system. If you use the autoproduction system, you need at least 1 line per vehicle design. If you plan on using the restrictions, such as limit shipping to same continents, you need 1 line for each car for each continents. Plan accordingly.

If you own a majority share of the company, you own the company. If you want them to pay you, increase their dividend rate.

If you don't want to help companies you own (silly if you ask me), you can disable the platform sharing system in the Autocommands area where you find the Auto Production toggle. You can still use their designs, but they won't be able to use yours.

If platform sharing is enabled, and you own 50%+1 of any company, or any company owns 50%+1 of you, then they can license a design without royalty costs. If you sell all of your position in that company, and they have a platform shared component, it still remains royalty free. They will not be able to platform share any more components from you however.

If you own 50% of a company, it is your subsidiary. If someone owns 50% of you, you're a subsidiary. Subsidiary means that it's a part of your company, managed by someone else.

Thanks for explanation.

P.S. I like the idea of more realistic production, but I guess that would complicate AI behaviour.

If we do the feature bounty system, said feature will have around a $2,000 bounty. So hopefully we can raise enough money and enough folks vote for it to get implemented.

AI Behavior is not a problem. In fact, it'll probably be easier to implement than our current system was.
