Auto-sell tool and transportation costs
I'm experimenting with the auto-sell tool to see how it can help me reduce the micromanagement when the company grows larger, but I'm noticing it doesn't compensate for transport costs in any way, it just uses the suggested price for the vehicle. It's fine for markets such as EU and North America, where you can produce and restrict shipping so that transportation cost doesn't become a factor, but if you want to take your vehicles to smaller markets where you don't want to produce, it actually hurts profits.

Would it be possible to have a slight tweak to the auto-sell tool to have it incorporate the transporation cost to its calculation?

It would be a lot more than a slight tweak and would make turn times significantly worse. So no. If It could have been done, it would have been done several years ago.

If you wish to be transport costs consciousness, your best bet minimal micromanagement wise would be to use the regional restriction system and make sure you have enough factory production capacity in each region to meet your demand.

Alternatively, you can use the marque production restriction, set up a handful of factories which produce a marque specifically for regions you don't want factories in. However, if you still wanted to keep NA/EU separate with this, you would have to have a marque for each.

The final option would be to use the districting system instead of the autoproduction. It reduces the micromanagement, but you're still manually controlling production and shipping.
