It's not just about keeping the company profitable. It's about keeping the company growing. That means growing the market cap, the EPS, and the Dividend Payout.
If a company is not growing, it is of stagnant value to the shareholder. If a company is not growing but is paying out a dividend, it's passive income at best. Passive income investments are passé.
When the shareholders get sufficiently mad, you'll get an action memo demanding something. Do what they say, and your shareholder morale value will reset. If you don't do it, you risk the board firing you.
Growth is what shareholders want. You must increase your Market Cap, EPS, and Dividends. You may have maxed out your dividends, but do you have the dividend lock enabled? If so, a decline in EPS would cause the the dividends per share to decrease. Stockholders will not be happy with a declining dividend and EPS.
In short, continued rapid growth is the key to keeping shareholders happy.
And it looks like the shareholder morale code is not in the game mechanics manual. So I will make a note to add that after I release v2.0.0.7. That will give you a pseudo-code view of how the system operates.
So uhm... What you're saying is... More, bigger branches? more, bigger factories? :D
Yup, grow grow grow. :)
