Where the Invader's At?
Been playing Terratech for a while, and so far there's this lingering feeling that something is missing. That's when I re-watched the old Terratech videos and found out what.

Invaders.

Essentially community made Boss-level techs scaled based on your BBs (The Currency) and your License level. These guys were design to be hard and challenging compared to the AI Enemy techs roaming around the world or Mission Techs. I've had acquired all the corporation license and have been waiting for days for them to show up. But they didn't, so I looked into it.

Apparently it requires Twitter for the Invader system to work. An essential since you're going to be invaded by community made Techs. And everyone here has probably seen or hear why that doesn't work anymore.

So, I'd like to suggest an alternative way to have Invader's again, this time instead of integrating it via social media you hard-coded it in the game.

The way this system would work requires two thing;
1. A sort of Invader Pool/Database that stores the Invader Tech, it'll summon those tech when certain requirements are checked, like not being in grassland, not near a base, etc. Like what base Terratech did when it still works.
2. The Steam Workshop. Because many Techs are still made even today. Powerful ones that fit the criteria of Invader Techs and the fact it's also community made.

Essentially you manually subscribe the techs, have a UI to select what Tech would you want to be invaded by, and when you play the game you'll get invaded by one of the tech selected.

Of course, this idea is NOT full proof. As you're not exactly surprised on what you'll be invaded by if YOU were the one to pick it. But that's the idea I came up with.

Although Payload Studios is busy with their sequel, I hope this message still reaches out to them so we can have the Invaders feature back in a new update.

In addition, a toggle on whether you want to activate Invaders or not is also needed. For QOL reasons.

They said they would look into a new system when they removed Twitter, possibly using Discord, but ya, I wish they would at least have the invaders come from the existing tech pool, just scaled to be higher strength relative to the player. It was a fun mechanic to add some tension from time to time. I'm sure the existing invader tech pool was already stored in the game.

Their current Space Junker submission contest is just through the Steam workshop, that would be a good way to at least keep the mechanic functional until something that supports more platforms can be developed.

Y'know. they could also use the competition too add in new Invaders into their game. That way the competitors could have more reward than just a shout-out from the Dev.

But we'll see if the Invader update drops...
