Please Contact RVGL team and release their version as an update.
This will improve the game so much. RVGL patch as an update will add split screen support and online multiplayer.

Probably not a good idea, since RVGL team have a bad relationship with this publisher because of past problems.

Years ago they used the old 1.2b community patch and released it as their own under a price tag on GOG. They even used an older 1.2b one, as there were newer 1.2a patches in use already back then. Also, RVGL is free, why should WeGo/H2 profit from that? And some other stuff like asking some random people on forums in poor english about how to install custom tracks. And they released the horrendous "sequels" on mobile.

Okay. I didn't know all that. I just wish they could work something out.

Current copyright owner should profit because they bought the rights for the original game though if they use RVGL's patches then they should share some profit with the RVGL team too for their work. This business and profit thing aside from pure gamer point of view, online races with RVGL and Revolt House is quite complicated for an average person. But if they patch things on steam then everyone can enjoy this beautiful game and I could play online. LOL

There is nothing to work out, WeGo is just garbage and they've tried many times to sweep the rug from the RV community for a long time.

Revolt House is no longer active or fully functional, it used to be in 1.2a and early RVGL days. Community organizes online races and events on discord servers now. And RVGL is FREE, its not about taking a piece of profit together with some korean mobile game developers, its about it being free to use and have fun for everybody.

Okaayy, thanks for the info. Will have to look into how discord servers work.

I get the being free to use sentiment, I am not saying stop the free RVGL. Let it be free to use, just let the steam users too the have easy access to this fun. Its like I am 33 years old, I used to play this game (just the demo first stage) with my school friends when we were kids. I am the most tech savy guy in my circle and I couldn't get the Revolt House port forwarding work despite seeings the guides on how to do it. I have friends those who can't even install the RVGL patch, I have to do it for them LOL. But they all can install games from steam and play them online. Steam is just easy and convenient. So RVGL patch via steam would really help a lot of users like us. As you said "its about it being free to use and have fun for everybody." (stress on fun for everybody part) :)

I know some people are getting "smarter" and are uncapable of performing a custom installation or unpacking and pasting custom content manually, so they need the system to be 3click: click buy, click install, click play. I am not in the circle of developers or IO, but I heard rumours Wego wasn't open to selling the IP to the community (would it be selling it to a person, foundation, company, whatever). If they cling onto the IP like it's their wonderchild, it's on them.

There is even a new RVGL Launcher that installs both the game and custom content in the form of IO packs (I don't use it as I don't need it), the most idiotprooof custom installer there could be for RVGL (outside of having everything in one/two clicks on steam) and people are still having problems. I understand if they have repository errors on linux, but a simple install?

If they can't do that, maybe instead of pressuring Wego/H2 into taking over/selling RVGL (which will never happen), maybe they should pressure them to sell the IP to RVGL devs? (Not that these Koreans would care about that, hint: they don't at all about anything, they just grab the cash with the least amount of input and work needed).

All you need to do is download the launcher and it does all the work for you in less than 5 minutes.

Yeah, maybe let's not do that. If you do want to play RVGL through Steam though, here is a great workaround that I use personally: Download and install RVGL, either through launcher or regular version (just a note: I don't know how well this will work, or if it will at all with launcher installed version) then go to Library >> Add non-Steam game >> Find launcher/game .exe file and add. Just like that, you have access to Steam overlay features and a lot of the functionality, excluding community functions specific to each Steam game.
