Upgrading Units

Hi, I hope you are well. My question is: If I upgrade unit in medieval era, skipping the upgrade in the classical era, the cost totally is the same in case I upgrade both in the classical era first and then in the medieval? Thanks. I hope I have been clear enough.

Controlling for other factors like the cost of the upgrade being higher in Age III than in Age II, there is no "extra" cost to skipping an upgrade; you will pay less total resources if you skip upgrades instead of always upgrading every age.

If you do Age I -> Age III units, you will only pay the price of the Age III upgrade (if controlling for other factors).

If you do Age I -> Age II -> Age III units, you will pay the price of the Age II upgrade and the Age III upgrade.
