love this game but unfortunately looks like its lost momentum....
I hope ranked will bring back some people, but I fear at least from the PC side of things the momentum is lost . do you think it was just the bad PR marketing move? performance? or the game modes themselves?

I find it plays pretty well and the variety of game modes keeps things fresh.

scoreboard shows like 2 stats but they have a shop with $20 skins? no shots fired? hit % assists? lol

The idiots launched this game by advertising with a battle royale game mode. Making people think this game was just another battle royale.

Not to mention they launched the game without a career profile or any sort of grind that wasn't a battlepass that you had to pay to grind. You literally have to go to a 3rd party website just to check your score.

There is absolutely 0 reason to grind this game unless you want to pay for a crappy battlepass with some of the worst looking cosmetics I've seen in a live service game.
No server region info and ping.:lunar2019piginablanket:
For me personally it was the look of the game. This game looks awful, like hurts my eyes bad. The colours, the character design, the levels...all of it is worst in class. It looks like it was made by Disney for kids.
The game is half finished to be honest, no skins to grind for only a crappy tiny paid battle pass. This is like the seriously hated this game and designed it to fail from the get go.

I'm someone who has played the first Splitgate.
How do you think I feel about Splitgate 2, seeing it go from a Halo/Quake styled game with portals, into a class-based arena shooter with the aesthetics of modernity?

imagine u need skins to grind for and to have fun playing a game...
just one of the reasons what's wrong with the gaming industry nowadays.

Vanity and looking different is fun and adds variety.

yeah there isnt a reason to grind it which doesnt help . but i think the marketing move was the big mistake

like they didnt mention any other game mode and most people heard about the game from that event....
I would like it to have more audience in Brazil… :Brazil_Flag:
We've seen way too many F2P FPS's come out follow this exact same trajectory, and unfortunately the momentum of it's playerbase decline is just too much. I bought the battle pass and plan on finishing it but I really don't see the game being updated past the end of the year unless they really pull their heads out of their asses and go back to what made the first game work so well.

The BR is fine but they just need to abandon it and focus on the core gameplay. More maps, more weapons, less focus on grinding attachments, either make the BP skins more unique or make the paid bundles *very* appealing rather than just slight reskins and recolors.

Again, I want this game to succeed but it's really hard to see it coming back from where it's at now. People have already tried and bounced off of it in less than a month, they also don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about battle royale modes that aren't WZ and Apex anymore, and it just doesn't have enough content to justify playing long term.
For me I don't play on PC like normal and opt for XBox instead because my computer can't handle UE5. I'm sure a lot of other people are the same way.

Honestly I'm not seeing this bounce back unless they do a drastic change like cyberpunk 2.0 did. They have made to many bad changes from the art style, classes, lack of game modes, and launching with the over inflated prices in the store. The other mistake was apologizing for the hat controversy, he would have been better off standing his ground instead of caving in since that caused both sides of the aisle to hate him. At-least then he would have kept more players in the game that way. If they could change the above major complaints maybe word of mouth could bring this game back but that is really the only way that i could see it coming back.
Developers are just as greedy as Activision except more incompetent.

If they were truly "pro players" as they claim you would have Ranked + bunch of other stuff instead of BR.

the ceo says a couple of stupid things and that means the whole team is greedy? I do agree that not having ranked and stats and such at launch isn't a good start since there really isn't much progression, but at the same time I'd rather play a new, free game that is fun and ranked comes a month later than the same old game every year but with a new price tag. as for the skins I do think they are waaay too expensive, but at the same time they are completely optional and I don't have to pay anything to play the game in the fullest. the battlepass is probably the best battlepass price I've seen for how much content you're getting.

Activision has thousands of employees to get stuff done, but still bo6 releases in such a broken state and stayed broken for months, this game only has around 180 employees working on it, and it releases in an overall smooth state, with some pretty major performance issues in br but everywhere else is running buttery smooth.

I hate people trashing these devs over some dumb things the ceo said, these guys clearly care about the community and show it, whether they are interacting with the community itself online or making changes based on player feedback.
