About the card collector achievement...
Do you really need ALL the base game cards? I mean even the duplicates or just one of each works?

You do NOT need duplicates.

One of each unique card is all that is required.

If that's true the information I followed was wrong. The last card I got was unique, so I can't confirm it.

You need basics from generic games of NPCs you run into as you travel (inn keepers, blacksmiths, etc). But you also need to get specific cards from quests. If you keep checking that gwent book in the quest section of your backpack, the last number is the number of generics you have yet to pick up. If you have also completed all the other card quests before getting that last generic card, you can finish quest with generic games, but odds are you will have all those cards before you finish the other quests. So finishing the quest by obtaining a unique is not uncommon.
