Will AI faction expand to become super power in the late game?

It seems dynasties have the old problem of TW franchise, it starts with challengeable opponents and yet they all stay almost idol after 40-50 turns. This makes late game lack of what players need. We need several super power survived to fight for the endgame

I play modded, and answer is yes, however, not sure about vanilla.

But I'd also check out Ganossa's Agony mod. I don't know if he does what you ask for here, but I've heard Ganossa talk about him too modding the AI and such.
