Multi-Player Info; all you need to and must know!
As many may already be aware, Rooks Keep is in early access for the main purpose of evaluating multiplayer connectivity and balancing.

This means that the only servers(for now) that will show up in-game for joining are ones that willing players host.

You can of course connect to your friends that own the game through the Main Menu's Friend Games list if you have that option.

So we encourage whoever is willing, to host public online matches that others can join.

In order to get your game to show up on the server browser, you need to do the usual port-forwarding that comes with modern networks.

The ports you will need to forward are: 55001 (Game), and of course the Steam port, if you haven't already: 27015.

If it is done right, your hosted game should appear on the server browser without any trouble.

Thank you.

An official dedicated Rooks Keep server has temporarily been launched, you can check the details here:

The server is being closed for the time being, until we sort some things out.

I tried portwarding already and my friend can't join me and nothing shows up in the game server browser. I tried inviting with the online battle option and without and with the main menu and nothing works. Anyone know how to get this to work?

How to host dedicated server ?
BlackEagle  [developer] 18 Dec, 2014 @ 11:09pm
Under the game's base install folder is another folder: "Help\"

In there you'll find several files relating to dedicated server launching.
You'll want to run the .bat file, or your own version of it.
By changing what's in the BAT file, you can change the server's info.

The other file there will list all the commands you can pass on the BAT file's launch URL.

As long as you run that right, and have forwarded the ports on your router correctly, your server should appear.
