Game do not start
Hi guys,
I hope that someone can help me.
I changed my PC (from and i5 to a new i7).
Unfortunately Deathtrap doesn't work on this PC.
I installed all new and old Visual C++ Libs, I installed Van Helsing hoping in a shared configuration , but nothing !!!!
When I start the game, the small standard pop-up appears with the installing of "Microsoft DirectX for windows"... progress bar works... and nothing, pop-up disappear without any error but the game do not start.
I already tried this new PC with some games like Mad Max and Van Helsing Final cut and they works very very good !!!.

Any idea ? something to check or install ?

1.Verify game files.
2.Restart steam.
3.Restart game,

What do you mean
"Verify game files"
Could you please suggest some steps or specify some activities?

Anyway I removed and reinstalled many time the game and Steam too.

Nothing change, other games works, but not this :(

Do you know if there is a specific list of software and library that you should install to use all Steam games ?

Also steam libraries (which include dx files etc) updated via steam (I don't know how to check them).

Ask for a refund! I don't care about the 2 weeks limit or how many hours played. Games that are 100% abandoned can't just keep our money and say "sucks to be you"! They MUST refund: By LAW!

Deleting the game's registry entry - as the FAQ mentions - solved the issue for me. Hope it works for you.

At other discussion, solution worked for me. installing vcredist_x64-1 solved my problem.

I also encountered a problem with the game not starting from under the steam. But from the game folder, if you run the DeathTrap_x86 file, it starts normally. Then I figured it out and just renamed DeathTrap_x86 to DeathTrap and now the game starts from under steam.

Thanks and that sounds like a logical solution. . .But don't forget the vast majority of the population have zero (0) IT training or knowledge! So where can we find the DeathTrap_x86 file?? I have been looking for days now and cannot find anything remotely close to this. And also: where are the Devs? . . .Or Steam? Isn't it them who should fix that instead of their 'clients' having to go to computer school to fix their own games??! . . .The world we live in!
