deathtrap does not initiate
OS
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
CPU
Intel Core i5 650 @ 3.20GHz

I tried
-Start Regedit by using the Run command and type in regedit, then hit Enter.
-Find the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\NeoCore Games\DeathTrap\Options
-Find the parameter MeasuredHardwarePerformance, and set it to 0.

But i do no have that path maybe because I am win7 not win8.

same here win7 i press launch after a short time game trys to run stops and nothing happens

This is what it worked to me:
- Right click Deathtrap in your Steam library, and select Properties
- In the Local Files tab, click Browse Local Files
- Open the InstallUtils folder
- vcredist_x86-1
install it. Then go to the folder where the exe's are. you shoukd have 3. deathtrape, deathtrap_64 and deathtrap_86. Then change the name of deathtrape to deathtrape_1
for instance, and name deathtrap_86 as deathtrap. The steam will execute this new deathtrap
