Right click the game and go Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity Of Game Files. If that doesn't fix the issue, could you right click the game and go:
Properties -> BETAS
enter the beta code
duckGameOldVersion
and press 'CHECK CODE'. This should give you access to the 'previous_version' branch. Does that version launch? If so, try switching back to the main game branch and launching the game again- it's possible that this will fully reset the files.
I'm doing tests on my end to try and figure out what the issue is but I haven't been able to reproduce it. I hope we can figure this out and get your game running again.
"Right click the game in steam and go Properties -> BETAS. In the password box, enter
duckgamehotfix
and press CHECK CODE. This should allow you to select the 'oldversion_hotfix' branch from the dropdown. If you launch the game, it will hopefully create a log next to the EXE, which you can find by right clicking the game and going Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files. The file is called 'ducklog.txt', if it's there could you post what it says here?"
