My ideas for the game
Here are some ideas of mine that could improve the depth of the game:

1. Layers:
The introduction of multi-layered maps would surely improve the gameplay!
You could find new ways to the treasures to steal.
For this you could use the local canalization, air shafts, the roof or perhaps even seperate floors that are guarded and are filled with loot, etc...


2. Skills and specialization
The guys need to skill certain things this could be:

- pick pocketing
for getting stuff more quietly.

- lock picking
for getting beyond grey and later even orange and red doors.

- electric
not everybody should be able to play with electric circuits,
you should have a specialized guy for that.

- silence
breaking stuff like windows crates, etc makes noise.
Surely there is the one guy that can do this quietly.

- cutting
getting through fences can be pretty usefull for the plan

3. A shopsystem
with this system you could order new weapons or sell stuff or even hostages.
you obviously need to get the hostages into the hideout with the van.
I also dont like it that i get new and free ammo and weapons after each mission.


4. A preperation system for bigger missions
small maps like the kiosk or the bar are pretty obvious to solve. There are bigger maps though which the team needs to get informtion for.They could find things out via submissions like kidnapping a guy that knows stuff about the map like where the cameras, guard and valuables are.
The team could find out almost anything about the map by finding out or just starting and knowing nothing - perhaps not even the rough blueprints.

4. an upgrabable hideout
The hideout should be able to upgrade certain rooms with their own benefits:

- an armory
bought weapons, ammo and tools are displayed and equipable at shelfs in this room
this would look better than lying around the hideout by far.

- a garage
bigger maps benefit from bigger teams and bigger teams need more vehicles
that can be bought and stay on a few slots within the garage

- hostage cells
If you can take certain people for hostage you should be able to "store" them too.
These folks can be sold for ransom or just set free after their information is no longer a threat for the plans of the team.

- a hospital ward
your team can get some bullets or blunt damages pretty easily if you arent careful enough.
these wounds should not be healed after the mission directy, but be treated in this room.

- the meeting room
this room is the heart of your operation! more imrpoved meetingrooms bring the possibility to get more information about the heists.
If you have no meetingroom you need to find out all information about the maps on your own
But with a meetingroom you can get them with submissions and other stuff (explained earlier)
The information will be stored in the meetingroom therefor it need to be improved enough.


5. more possibilities to recruit your team
just buying them is pretty lame. There should be more ways of getting them like meeting them randomly at the heists or in submissions like breaking into a prsion just for getting them freed and eventually recruited.

first of all, I'm not in the dev team, so everything i write is solely my opinion :)
these are great ideas. while some are being worked at others seem a little unrealistic at this time. let me adress them one by one.

special skills are being in the works (eg the disguise guy and the guy with the bombs) nontheless these are cool ideas and i would like to also see more special skills/abilities :)

a shop is being in the works and will be released most likely with the coming update. however there will also be a "suspicious alley" where you can buy and sell (perhaps also trade and take missions, devs? (: )
the hostage takeing.. well Im not sure about this. how would you imagine this to go about?

a scouting option would be a cool addition, i agree. but it should have its purpose. at the moment one wouldnt need that. the maps are quite open. how do you imagine to change this in order to make scouting more necessary and rewarding?

really well thought out! i was always wondering what an upgradeable hideout would bring as bonuses.
the heist-preperation needs some more thought however for reasons i mentioned earlier. also the hostage-system, while sounding interesting, i think it would be an overkill to just load every npc in the truck and take them home. how do you imagine this system to work?

5. more possibilities to recruit your team

one could perhaps think of some kind of randomization, to find goons on maps, but what would be the reasoning behind this? maybe as missions may vary. finding one guy in a bar or so could make sense. a police-prison bust is currently considered as far as i know. having recruitable hostages.. hmm this might by too strong of a feature. getting goons for free and sell every unused hostage.. bust the bank, put 20 or so npcs in the van, drive home. you wouldnt really need to rob the bank anymore to make profit ^^ im not against the idea, but i cannot imagine how one would balance this. whats the upside and downside to taking hostages home? elaborate a little more :)

howevery cool ideas, keep em coming ;D

Good ideas and good explanations for them as well. Like Gladiator hinted, we're pretty much past the point where we could still add major features into the design, or the game, but these will still give us inspiration! Also, some of the ideas, such as the item shop, is definitely on the feature list. Thank you and keep them coming! :)

regarding to the hostages I think of some special guys and their use will vary:
1. Hostage for ransom
there might be some special guys that can be ransomed for money , just because they are rich and influencial

2. hostage for save information
what if you had a submission and found out some intel that will help in a mission. Sadly you needed to get this info directly froma important person you dont want to kill because it would threaten the plan. But you also cant let him go because he would warn the guys in the mission. This would lead to more security in that mission...

How to get hostages?
well, threaten them and put them into the van.
when you arive in the hideout they stay at the cells.
If you have no cells they take the run and flee between the missions.
