You can see: a Gaz Mask, a Hockey Mask, a Clown Mask and Pumpkin.
They used to be in halloween mode feature
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/games/313080/announcements/detail/242393516522167056
but were removed by time.
Here is what I suggested to devs.
GazMask: Shades, Peige, Stripes
Hockey: Specs, Bigfist, Leatherjacket
ClownMask: Secretary, Leathershoe, Suspenders
Pumpkin: Suitguy, Fro, Redcollar
- Graphically tricky: top-down 2D isn't exactly the best way to show off masks
- UI: UI can already be cumbersome, adding a system for putting on/removing masks would make it even more so
- Gameplay influence: partially due to the above, we never got too deep in designing the impact the masks would have, ie. what would they do.
To summarise, unlike a certain 3D fps, having cool collectible masks would probably not work too well as we cannot really show them off, which means they'd need to have a more critical impact on gameplay. This is not to say things can't change, but I just wanted to explain the background behind the very valid point of "why no masks?"
