Crash On Start

So I just purchased this game today, tried to launch it, and as soon as I start new game, it crashes and I get the message "null object reference".

Game Version: 1.0.5
OS: Windows 8.1
CPU: Intel i7 2.8gHz
RAM: 16gb
GRAPHICS: Nivida 990m with 8gb dedicated video ram

Please help, I don't want to have to return this game, it looks awesome.

Forgot to say this, theres no crash log either, just the "null object reference" error message.

I have exactly the same issue, too.
Just got the game. It crash as soon as I start a game.
and the "null object reference" message, too.

Please help!

Im just going to return this game, it looks like a lot of people are having errors with null object crashes in different parts of the game. Bugs like this that affect so many people are what I'd expect from an early access game, not a 'finished' product like this.
