Finding Crash Logs
If you experience a game crash while playing The Masterplan, by default, there should be a crash log written on your computer. This crash log will be a great help in figuring out, and in fixing the bug causing the crash.

So, how to find and what to do with the crash logs? Follow these steps to help us improve the game!

PC (Windows)
  1. Open Windows Explorer, click on View tab, and make sure 'Hidden Items' is checked. This can also be done via the Folder options in the Control Panel.
  2. Navigate to
    C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Shark Punch\The Masterplan\log\errors
  3. You should now see time-stamped folders, open the relevant ones.
  4. Email the _error.txt files from the folders to support@sharkpunch.com along with a brief description of what you were doing when the game crashed.

Mac
  1. Open Finder
  2. Hit CMD+Shift+G and type in:
    /Library/Application Support/Shark Punch/The Masterplan/log/errors
  3. You should now see time-stamped folders, open the relevant ones.
  4. Email the _error.txt files from the folders to support@sharkpunch.com along with a brief description of what you were doing when the game crashed.

Once we receive your email, we'll be able to analyze the information, and hopefully can replicate, and then fix the bug. Thank you for being part of the development!

After updating to v5.1 it crashes when I try to heist... Up to the map everything is fine, but I just can't get into a heist without crashing. Basically, I can no longer play The Master Plan after updating. Unfortunately the Steam App handles automatically all updates, so I can't revert back to the previous (ie: playable) version...

Thanks for the report. We're aware of issues affecting a lot of players with both 5.0 and 5.1, and are doing our best to find and fix them as soon as possible. To help us in this, could you find and send us any logs of the crashes? If you're having trouble finding them, please follow the instructions in the first post.

Also, based on your description, there is something that might help:
In Steam Library, Right-click The Masterplan and open the properties dialog.
Click "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS" and type in
-fboQuality=3 -textureQuality=3

This makes the levels load a bit faster, hopefully allowing you to get into them normally. Also make sure to wait patiently in the Loading screen, it seems any clicking or alt-tabbing might cause the process to freeze.

Champions, sorry for the long wait. Hopefully you were already able to fix the issue with the help from the forums. If not, let's see what we can find out about it! :)

The Appdata folder is hidden by default, to make it visible, you'll need to open the Control Panel, then choose Folder Settings, open View-tab, scroll down and select 'Show hidden folders and files'. After this you should be able to find the AppData folder.

I did this, I still can't find it.

If finding the folder is the issue, try:
1) run Windows Explorer first (Windows key + E)
2) navigate to C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\
3) Open View menu from the top
4) Check Hidden Items checkbox

You should now see the AppData folder and be able to get to
C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Shark Punch\The Masterplan\
If there is no 'log' folder, then the no crash logs have been generated and we need to investigate the issue some other way.
