Chapter Boni: range definition and heat management?
Chapters have different (dis)advantages. Two of them, I fail to find in battle:

Imperial Fists, Crimson Fists: "Better heat management"
I see no difference whatsoever between Crimson Fists and Dark Angels. Heat gauges are identical. Cooling action reduces heat by half the maximum (rounding fractions down). Move, turn, reload actions reduce heat by two.

Salamanders: "+2 to range definition"
Which range? Can weapons shoot further? If so, which weapons? The heavy flamer shoots seven tiles for all chapters, no difference.

Can anyone explain those two features?

After reading code, I can answer the "Better heat management" part myself.

When taking an action most weapons remove 2 points of heat. Assault cannons remove 20.
Imperial and Crimson Fists receive a 25 % bonus. So Assault cannons remove 25 while other weapons remove 2.5. That float is converted to int. C# would use "(int)((float)2*1.25)". Which is 2. So there should be a bonus to Assault Cannon heat removal. But there is none for most weapons.

Edit:
Is this a bug or a feature?

IF and CF should get a bonus to heat management. However, I think all successor chapters should recieve half said bonus.

So if Ultramarines get +10% CtH ranged & -10% CtH melee then Novamarines should be 5%

Salamanders recieving +2 range seems fair.
atleast the tarantula works? explains why it feels weirdly quick to overheat the Mk.IV bolters

Tarantula Heavy Bolters do not use the heat mechanic. They can expend all ammo during a single turn of overwatch.
