Should I skip Trine 3 and jump into Trine 4 instead?
I loved the first 2 games years ago and I would like to continue the journey but I read some bad things about Trine 3, what should I do guys?

Get it on sale if you are interested but I personally would skip this. Its not finished. It has some gameplay and control issues. The story is not finished. It just ends at a cliffhanger and there is no extra content to explain what happens next. Just play Trine 4 and the DLC, it feels like Trine 1 and 2 and its great.

Trine 3 has some interesting ideas but it's nothing compared to Trine 1,2 and 4.

Skip it. Trine 4 is in all parts better and Trine 3 will just disappoint.

I found the controls far less slippery than 2, puzzles are not difficult and don't leave you guessing if you "did it right", finding pieces to open levels is not much of a challenge and the game is super short. I enjoyed the 2.5D setup as well, with 4 feeling like a bit of a step back in terms of freedom, but I haven't really played 4 yet. (Played 2, 3 and now on to 4 back-to-back)

If you get it cheap, hey, why not. Complete it in like half a day or less. 100% in about 6hrs for me.

That's the entire point of Trine you guess the solution from how you understand the mechanics and physics works it's not like Portal where there is strictly one solution

3 is probably the buggiest of them all. You can just fall through floors, lose objects, get stuck in a camera transition from 2D through the 2 and a half D ways and it just randomly crashes.

I bought all three games, just finished 3, its ♥♥♥♥ compared to the first two. What a misstep they made what were they thinking.

all games are completely independent of each other, but 3 is much more unique in its dark tone.
