CA 25th Anniversary Reveal
Hey Steam,
Just thought I’d reach out to the historical total war community and ask what everyone is expecting for this showcase this year for the 25th anniversary reveal. Seems a lot of people missed this announcement and didn’t see that CA have mentioned a multiple reveal of “new titles, historical and fantasy.” Just wanted to touchbase and see what titles people are expecting, I have heard/read that people are expecting and also potential leaks that med 2 remaster shadow drop, 40k 2026 and to finish off med 3 2027/28. I’m not a big fan of leaks and so forth as most of the time it’s never correct but just wondering what is everyone predicting these titles to be?
Personally all I want is med 3 like a lot of the fan base.

I just want a genuine and thought provoking Historical entry. The last few have been subpar at best. Something of actually grand size without the need to buy copious amounts of overpriced DLC, and something that offers more than just their stupid Saga attempts. I'm not asking for EU4 or HoI4 sized maps, but I would appreciate at least a continent; Mesopotamia, Greece and Britain alone are disappointing, especially when you consider how similar the factions within end up playing.

If they put half the amount of work as they did for their breadwinner Warhammer, we'd have a half-decent Historical entry today.

I agree, surely after the last 2-3 years of a plummet CA has taken they finally listen to the historical fans and make what everyone has been asking for. Also it’s a no brainer to make a med 3 for a money grab, even if the game was half average I think it would still sell ridiculously well.

I want CA to announce it is selling the IP to a more competent company who loves the spirit of the series and make it actually good.
I am all about pike and shot historical timeframe, also up to the very beginning of the 19th century closing it for me when Napoleon abdicates for good this time (most fun gunpowder era imo)

But what I really would like to have, since it is an anniversary and some folks might roll with their eyes now, is a remastered or new Rome II / classical, antique era TW. CA butchered Rome so hard and Pharao aswell, Pharao is one of the worst bloated stats modifier TW with a soulless Dynasties campaign. You cannot force yourself to play this shallow hull of a TW at some point. It is such a drag. Such a shame
