However that video seems to be 4 years old. I heard that the UI got an overhaul in the past couple years so that would be my guess. Maybe someone else knows a mod that can revert it? I'm sorry that I wasn't of much help
instead of always having to go to a merchant just to check.
I can never remember which items are worth something and which ones aren’t.
Also, I think the waterskin’s capacity should be increased (and its weight reduced),
because gem merchants are extremely rare.
When I finally find something I want to buy,
it’s such a hassle to keep running back to my stash in the village to fetch more water (money).
I'd like to offer a few suggestions that might help you.
Firstly; yes, it is a bummer not knowing exactly what something is worth but that will teach you to start checking vendor prices (yours and theirs) when you do get to a vendor, you'll quickly learn what to look out for.
Generally (unless low level) low tier, common weapons and armor are *NOT* worth picking up as they sell for pennies and are heavy. You'll soon start to find items that are ideal for vendors.
Which leads me to my second tip; stop thinking of water as your money.
Yes, drinking water in CoQ is used as a currency BUT this game is more about swapping items and goods. A suggestion: Instead of hoarding water keep an eye out for yellow priced items (ie, copper nuggets, silver nuggets etc). These are always worth a set price and are much less hassle and much lighter than carrying around 50,000 waterskins of water.
When I first played I had stockpiles of water all over the place, so I know where you're coming from but I assure you the suggestions I've made to you will help you a lot (and keep the game the same).
Live and drink, friend.
