Laser rifle burning up my loot??
Started using a laser rifle and it's great but it turns enemies into ash. Definitely no corpse. There's been some loot but I'm not sure if that's from companions' kills. I haven't yet seen an enemy get dusted and leave loot. Does anyone know if energy damage burns up their equipment?

it only destroys corpses, you can't butcher a pile of ash.

So their equipment drops just the same as ever? I know that's what you're saying but just making sure.

Anything they have equipped should still drop, but you won't get a corpse to butcher/harvest (only ash). If you have doubts, take a look at enemies and see what they're wearing before you blast them.

Oh wow the loot is just under the ashes the same way it would be under the corpse splat. The ashes just threw me off and I assumed nothing was there.
