I can no longer change ships, i've tried a couple of new games with different starting ships but no joy. Does anyone know whats going on?

Its workable now. The transfer menu covers the take over ship option sometimes https://imgur.com/a/jGG28l9
It might be related to ships that trigger cutscenes.
