This game needs a map
I understand the decision to go compass only for navigation, but it does not work with the way the maps are laid out. My friend and I just straight up quit a run because we couldn't figure out how to get to the exit. It's anti-fun to have to backtrack and run around.

A map could be handy but due to how Beneath is randomly generated, I see it as a complex mechanic that the devs simply cannot prioritize right now (they are working on the outdoor editor update). In the meantime the breadcrumbs item you can purchase from the shop or pick up from stalls is also a good tool along with the compass to find your way around, which is an item that displays your footsteps on the ground to show where you've already been. Also, you can buy a "guiding light" from any shop for some gold which will display quick moving blue lights to guide you to the exit. Not trying to take away from your suggestion or anything but if you aren't using them already those methods should help with navigation

I appreciate the tips. I don't think it would be too hard to make a map, there are plenty of indie games with randomized levels that have maps. I get it if they're working on other things at the moment, but I definitely feel like the navigation mechanics take the focus away from the real appeal of the game, which is hitting stuff and getting powerful, so I hope they do implement it at some point.
