So we're not commited to actually implementing this, but I think that it could be cool if players could select a perk for their characters to help them.

I'd like to get feedback on this idea. Discussion about the perks, alternate perks, or how we would implement them (unlock them as part of progression ? attach different perks to different skins ? attach them to items ?)

I'm still unsure how to integrate them into the game, but i'd like the player to select his perk at the beginning of the level.

Here's some perk ideas to start the discussion :
-Extra Gas : instead of having 1 second of gas, this perk would increase to something like 1.2s
-Treasure Hunter : Treasures are granted ON PICKUP rather then only when returning them to a checkpoint.
-High Octane : Jetpack has 20% faster acceleration, making control easier/less floaty
-Hawk Vision : Camera is 20% more zoomed out, making it easier to spot secrets and prepare for obstacles
-Slow missiles : All missiles are 20% slower
-Lava walker : Instead of dieing on immediate contact, a small animation of the character turning red starts on contact. If the player is still touching the laval 1/4th of a second after, he dies.
-Extra Speed : 20% faster speed. (this ones for the pro speed runners)
