yes. Go to properties and select an image from there.
The level editor is dumber than the "Choose picture" button in the level select screen though. it will cause stretching of the image instead of letting you reframe it to the level size. For that reason, it's important that the image file is of the same width/height ratio as the level (for example, default levels are 150x200 cubes, so the image needs to be of 3x4 ratio. I like to use 1536x2048 since lower res images will not look as good during gameplay due to the heavy zoom.
